It is our goal to promote the cultivation of Jatropha on a large scale as soon as possible so that our endeavors can contribute to this country’s energy security. Thus our work and goal is not only economic gain, but also an effort for the development of innovations in the field of growing alternative and sustainable sources of energy for the future of Costa Rica.
Services
• We analyze the feasibility of growing Jatropha on your land.
• We make contracts and alliances with single or organized farmers and companies that want to cultivate Jatropha curcas and other sources of sustainable energy.
• We provide, under a contract, a technical sheet that reflects our experiences and the experiences gathered internationally, to farmers already growing Jatropha.
• We are seeking Joint ventures with other companies that are in the biofuels business
• We provide plants of Jatropha and a cultivation system according to the climate, altitudes, and soil conditions of a specific agro ecological area.
Ongoing projects
• A Joint-Venture in an experimental cultivation research project with Coopepuriscal R.L. and the Ministry of Agriculture’s regional office in the Puriscal region.
• Several small plantations in the area of Puriscal (1-2 hec.)
• We give advice and lectures on the cultivation of Jatropha curcas to interested Costa Ricans, in coordination with the National Program on Biofuels supervised by the National Office of Biofuels of the Ministry of Agriculture and Cattle Ranching (MAG).
• Our experimental fields are used by Bjorn Pieprzyk (who has seven years of experience in alternative energy solutions) of the University of Hanover, Germany, as a platform for a doctorate degree in the improvement of soil conditions when Jatropha is cultivated.
